Out of all the globally inspired meals that students love, Asian noodle bowls can be some of the most versatile to serve in K12. From classic lo mein to dan dan noodles, these six styles keep kids happy while using proteins you can use up and down the menu.
In addition to Asian flavor staples like ginger, garlic and soy sauce, the ingredients in these meals keep pantry management simple.
Translating to “mixed noodles”, lo mein tends to be one of the more flexible noodle dishes. Just pick a protein, noodle, sauce and some veggies—typically broccoli, carrots, cabbage, green beans, mushrooms or bean sprouts.

Peanuts originated in South America, where indigenous people introduced them to Spaniards, who took them to the Europeans, Asians and Africans, who then brought them on voyages to North America. That’s a long way for a little nut!
